This role supports the installation of complex quantum computing machines in Hamburg, working within a multidisciplinary engineering team. Key Responsibilities
Assist a multidisciplinary engineering team with the assembly, integration, and testing of complex mechanical, optical, electronic, vacuum, and cryogenic systems.
Perform essential functional tests and equipment calibrations to ensure system accuracy.
Support the preparation and operation of various test setups and accurately collect resulting data.
Maintain and organize essential lab resources, including stock supplies for assemblies and test equipment.
Implement and drive 5S principles to establish an efficient and clean working environment.
Required Skills
German language skills at B2 level or above.
English language skills at B2 level or above.
3 years of experience in engineering/research labs or high-tech R&S environments.
Proven skill in hands-on work, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
Experience in assembling and maintaining complex technological systems (electronic, optical, and mechanical).
Very good technical understanding in at least one area among electronics, optics, or mechanical engineering.
Ability to work independently in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Nice-to-have Skills
Vocational training in electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or automation.
A degree or completed coursework in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Optics, or Physics.
Experience in R&D of electrical/electronics, mechanical, or optical systems.
Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and interpreting design specifications.
Ability to design mechanical components using basic CAD tools.
Experience working with lasers, optical components, and alignment systems.
Experience with Ultra-High-Vacuum systems.
