Key Responsibilities
Develop the Gemini-class quantum computing machine into an operational platform focused on cutting-edge performance, stability, and programmable quantum error correction capabilities.
Oversee daily system operations and optimize performance reliability, uptime, and running costs, including troubleshooting and addressing performance degradations.
Drive the continuous integration and testing of advanced features across the full hardware and software stack based on customer needs and the technology roadmap.
Design, implement, and maintain calibration systems, telemetry, and automation protocols for robust machine operations.
Collaborate with customers on co-design projects and successful application development by translating their needs into technical requirements and system development goals.
Required Skills
Ph.D. in experimental AMO physics or a related field
Hands-on experience building or operating a neutral atom, trapped ion system, or other quantum computing platforms
Proven success in experimental research demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications or scientific talks
Strong communication skills and the ability to translate customer needs into technical requirements and roadmaps
Proficiency in software skills, including programming languages and basic understanding of software architectures
Experience in mentoring or training scientists or engineers
Willingness to provide on-call support for machine operations
