The Lead Hardware Technician is responsible for manufacturing and validating the ultra-high vacuum, electrical, and mechanical components used in trapped-ion quantum computers. Key Responsibilities
Produce and validate ultra-high vacuum, electrical, and mechanical subsystems for trapped-ion quantum computers.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized equipment such as ovens, leak checkers, cryogenic test stands, and VNAs.
Collaborate with team members to develop assembly, validation, and operational processes to streamline manufacturing quality and efficiency.
Perform general production duties, including filling out maintenance and production logs, tracking spreadsheets, and associated data entry.
Comply with established safety protocols and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
High School Diploma or GED minimum qualification.
Minimum 5 years of experience working in an R&D or production environment.
Nice-to-have Skills
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Experience with high vacuum systems assembly and troubleshooting, including utilizing helium leak detection.
Experience performing work in a class 100 cleanroom environment.
Experience working with cryogenic equipment.
Experience refining manufacturing processes and developing work instructions.
Strong organizational mindset and ability to accurately document daily logs and project progress.
