The Director of Solutions Architecture will establish and lead Quantinuum's solutions architecture team, overseeing the technical strategy for key customer accounts. This role requires partnering with sales executives to define, shape, and deliver feasible quantum computing solutions that generate long-term customer value. The director acts as a player-coach, managing team performance, allocating resources, contributing to strategic engagements, and ensuring alignment between market needs and internal research roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
Coach the Solutions team, including goal setting, performance management, and professional development.
Oversee the portfolio of strategic accounts and partner with Strategic Account Executives to lead technical account planning and execution.
Ensure technical rigor and consistency in solution designs, scopes, and proposals developed by the Solutions team.
Use deep industry experience to help customers identify challenges that are best suited to quantum approaches.
Guide and approve customer project scopes to ensure alignment with Quantinuum's research strengths and prepare structured proposals.
Provide clear market feedback to research team leaders to keep research roadmaps aligned with current industry needs.
Maintain the overall catalogue of industry-appropriate use cases to support both customer engagement and internal research planning.
Required Skills
Master’s degree in quantum computing, physics, or related field.
10 or more years of experience working in industrial research programs.
Nice-to-have Skills
PhD in quantum computing, physics, or related field.
Experience working with or exposure to quantum technologies.
Two or more years managing technical teams or direct reports in a customer-facing environment.
Significant experience managing customer relationships and delivering complex technical projects.
Strong ability to translate between business objectives and technical execution.
Executive-level communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence others.
