Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, verify, and deploy trapped-ion quantum computers using previous experience in quantum computing.
Lead the Apollo system integration team, managing planning, prioritization, and decisions regarding hardware and software integration.
Provide technical coordination and guidance for interdisciplinary efforts to enhance quantum computer performance.
Collect data on device characteristics and system performance within a research lab environment.
Communicate significant results both internally and externally using publications and presentations.
Required Skills
Completed PhD prior to starting the position.
Minimum 8 years of experience (inclusive of PhD) in experimental atomic physics, quantum computing, or equivalent disciplines.
Nice-to-have Skills
Completed PhD in Physics or a related field with a background in cold atom physics.
Experience building trapped-ion or cold atom hardware systems.
Experience programming experimental control systems for data collection and analysis related to quantum computing hardware.
Experience operating as a team leader on various projects and programs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including published research results.
