This role seeks a Software Integration Engineer responsible for deploying and configuring Q-CTRL's quantum sensing and navigation software on UAS platforms. The engineer ensures that new software releases are correctly integrated, configured, and tested on real hardware in lab and field settings. They will work across engineering teams to verify full sensor stacks, diagnose issues during field trials, and establish robust deployment and release practices for hardware-in-the-loop systems.
Key Responsibilities
Own software deployment and configuration on UAS platforms, maintaining alignment with rapid HQ software releases.
Verify full sensor, driver, transport, and navigation stacks before lab testing and flight operations.
Serve as the on-site software expert during field trials to diagnose and resolve system-level software issues.
Retrieve, validate, and organize test and flight data for analysis by HQ software and science teams.
Contribute to improving deployment workflows, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery processes for hardware-integrated software.
Required Skills
Experience deploying and operating software on Linux based embedded, robotics, or UAS platforms.
Proficiency with systems programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, and Python.
Experience setting up and maintaining continuous integration systems.
Experience working with sensor drivers, middleware, and data transport layers.
Nice-to-have Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
Experience with numerical software or algorithm development, emphasizing inertial navigation, state estimation, data fusion, or optimization.
Familiarity with DevOps practices applied to hardware systems.
Ability to work effectively across software, hardware, systems, and research teams.
Experience in defence, aerospace, autonomy, robotics, or navigation systems.
