The Senior Quantum Software Engineer develops, optimizes, and maintains Pasqal’s open- and closed-source quantum software libraries, specifically focusing on solvers for graph machine learning, optimization, and quantum simulation problems. This role requires transferring research ideas into production-grade, tested code and building automated pipelines to solve industrial client use cases. The engineer collaborates across R&D and hardware teams to ensure software interoperability and actively supports both internal and external users adopting the libraries.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Pasqal core algorithm libraries.
Translate research ideas from quantum algorithm teams into production-grade, structured, documented, and tested code.
Build automated pipelines utilizing software solvers to address client use cases across various industries.
Collaborate with R&D teams to define the content and structure of the quantum software stack.
Ensure the interoperability of the application software stack with lower-level components and hardware teams.
Provide support to internal and external users adopting the developed software libraries.
Contribute actively to the development and productization strategy of the quantum software stack.
Required Skills
Experience with software best practices (development cycles, unit testing, CI/CD pipelines) in a collaborative environment.
Excellent writing of production-level Python.
Strong foundations in maths.
Knowledge of quantum computing.
Nice-to-have Skills
Experience contributing to open-source projects.
Experience with Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch and JAX).
Experience with Operations Research (OR) frameworks.
Knowledge about containerization technologies (e.g., Docker/Singularity).
