Application Specialist | Berlin | €65k

My client who are one of the leading R&D companies in optoelectronics are looking for a technically skilled and customer-focused professional to support users of their advanced photon detection systems. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between cutting-edge optical technologies and real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with the setup, configuration, and refinement of our photon counting devices and supporting software.
• Act as a point of contact for technical queries, offering solutions in the field of optical quantum systems.
• Produce example applications and instructional content to highlight system capabilities.
• Work closely with R&D teams to translate customer input into product enhancements and new features.
• Understand client needs and help design practical, customised solution

Qualifications:

• Academic degree in physics, engineering, or similar field; a doctoral degree is advantageous
• Practical experience with photon counting technologies and quantum optical systems
• Familiarity with laboratory setups and theoretical concepts in photonics
• Programming know-how (e.g. Python, C++, MATLAB) for system control and data handling is a bonus
• Analytical mindset and dedication to solving user challenges
• Ability and willingness to travel for client support when needed
• Strong communication skills in both German and English
