This full-time, temporary Postdoc position involves conducting research in quantum optical science and technologies within the Division for Light-Matter Interaction. The researcher will focus on experimental work, contributing to ongoing projects like integrated quantum optics, levitated nanoparticles, and quantum sensing. Key responsibilities include establishing quantum optical laboratories, publishing scientific findings, securing grants, and mentoring university students.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct extensive research activities focusing on quantum science and technology.
Contribute to the establishment and development of new quantum optical laboratories.
Prepare and submit scientific publications and applications for research grants.
Participate in teaching activities within the organizational unit.
Provide guidance and mentorship to Bachelor, Master, and PhD students.
Participate in outreach activities and scientific conferences.
Required Skills
Hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree in physics or equivalent university studies.
Broad knowledge in the field of quantum optics.
Experience in assembling quantum optical setups, working with cryogenic microscopes, setting up optical laboratories, or fabrication and design of integrated optics.
Strong problem solving skills.
Good communication skills.
Proficiency in the English language (Level C1).
Nice-to-have Skills
German language skills.
