This position is for a Staff Quantum Solutions Architect who will join a cross-functional team dedicated to developing and selling IonQ's quantum computing products, specifically focusing on Healthcare and Life Sciences. The role requires leading client discussions, explaining IonQ’s technical roadmap, and inspiring clients about quantum applications. Key duties include translating client business needs into technical proposals, creating sales materials, and sharing client insights with internal hardware and applications teams to drive product development and sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

Inspire prospective clients by explaining IonQ’s roadmap and answering technical questions about quantum computers and quantum applications.

Lead client discussions, inspiring them to see how quantum applications can be implemented in their business domain.

Translate business needs expressed by clients into a technical proposal in collaboration with other team members.

Create sales assets, such as slides, to explain features of IonQ quantum applications and products.

Share insights from clients with the hardware and applications team so client feedback is incorporated into IonQ products.

Assist the sales team with driving prospects down the sales funnel and developing a pipeline of opportunities for quantum applications and computers.

Required Skills

8 years of experience in a technical sales role or equivalent

3 years of experience developing Jupyter Notebooks for client demos

Master's degree or above in Machine Learning, Data Science, or other STEM field related to HCLS (e.g., chemistry or physics)

Strong interest in quantum computing

Excellent communication skills to concisely explain technical solutions and inspire clients

Nice-to-have Skills

PhD in a STEM field (e.g., Chemistry) or adjacent to quantum computing applicable to HCLS

10 years of experience in a technical leadership role

Hands-on experience with Qiskit, Cirq or other quantum computing SDK

Proficient in High Performance Computing (HPC)

Expert Solution Architect across various technologies

Experience leading technical events

Deep knowledge of the Healthcare LifeSciences and/or pharmaceutical industry
