Develop or integrate software components, including real-time decoder technologies, for QEC handling in circuit compilation, simulation, and resource estimation within the HPC-QC software stack.

Influence combined High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Quantum Computing (QC) architectural decisions based on detailed knowledge of QEC strategies.

Publish and present research findings externally to advance the field and represent HPE Labs.

Participate in the development and extension of open-source quantum computing tools and contribute to the standardization of key interfaces.

Required Skills

PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with relevance to quantum computing.

10 or more years of programming experience.

At least 1 year of experience implementing software for quantum error correction (resource estimation, real-time decoding, or circuit compilation).

Advanced programming skills in low-level languages such as C, C++, or Rust.

Advanced programming skills in Python.

Deep understanding of Quantum Error Correction codes, including circuit compilation and decoding aspects.

Experience creating or extending existing quantum computing tools like Qiskit or CUDA-Q.

Nice-to-have Skills

Knowledge of applications of quantum computing, including quantum chemistry or other quantum simulation.

Programming experience in high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

Experience with cloud computing platforms, GPU computing, or FPGA computing.

Experience with performance debugging and tuning.

Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Strong track record of publishing research papers in top-tier journals and conferences.
