This Software Engineer role focuses on advancing practical quantum computing by developing a robust, production-grade software platform. The engineer will contribute to core stack components, including designing transpilation passes, integrating hardware, and expanding the cloud-native SDK. The primary goal is to enable researchers and engineers to build meaningful quantum applications without needing to manage low-level complexities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement hybrid quantum-classical workflow orchestration, integrating advanced error-mitigation techniques and optimizing system performance.
Extend and maintain Haiqu's SDK, developer tools, APIs, and backend systems to deliver a seamless quantum development experience.
Develop and optimize circuit transpilation and mapping strategies tailored to multiple quantum hardware back-ends.
Build and maintain hardware-integration layers for a growing set of quantum providers.
Evolve cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable system performance.
Write thorough tests, benchmarks, and documentation to maintain code quality and reproducibility across the stack.
Required Skills
Strong experience in Python and modern software engineering practices
Comfortable with low-level programming (e.g., C++, Rust, C)
Strong software engineering background, including design patterns, data structures, algorithms, API design, databases, documentation, and integration tests
Familiarity with quantum computing concepts such as quantum circuits, measurements, noise channels, and error mitigation
Prior exposure to quantum SDKs (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane) and Quantum simulators
Hands-on experience with DevOps and infrastructure tools (Docker, cloud environments like GCP and AWS, CI/CD workflows)
Nice-to-have Skills
Basic quantum transpiler knowledge, including circuit optimization, gate decomposition, and DAG structures
Experience working close to quantum hardware APIs, with understanding of device-specific properties
