This role is for a Senior Quantum Hardware Engineer specializing in AMO Physics, joining a multidisciplinary team building cutting-edge quantum computers. The engineer will lead the design, building, and integration of critical, complex modules within the quantum architecture. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, build, and integration of a key, complex module within the quantum computer architecture.
Ensure seamless integration of the module with the full quantum stack, driving rigorous testing and optimization for overall system performance and stability.
Take ownership of new hardware challenges and modules after successfully completing a project.
Serve as the technical expert for the module, collaborating closely with software, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams for development and implementation.
Maintain fluency in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) physics advancements to continuously push the performance limits of our systems.
Required Skills
A PhD or Postdoc with a strong background in AMO physics.
Proven experience in the successful setup, stabilization, and operation of complex laser and optical systems.
Strong experience with core quantum hardware topics like optical tweezers, UHV systems, or stable laser implementation.
Nice-to-have Skills
Previous experience in quantum, semiconductor, or photonics industry setting.
Proficiency in scripting and data analysis, preferably Python.
Familiarity with basic electronics design principles.
Familiarity with mechanical design principles.
