The Quantum Measurement Software Engineer will join the software team at C12 to facilitate the work of research teams in building a quantum computer. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of the core quantum measurement software framework to ensure high performance and maintainability.
Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to translate complex experimental requirements into robust and scalable software solutions.
Define and document the unified architecture for instrument control, high-throughput data storage, and measurement orchestration.
Champion rigorous software practices, including code reviews, design discussions, CI/CD, and automated testing pipelines.
Take ownership of the full software lifecycle to deliver secure and scalable solutions for quantum R&D demands.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience building robust backend systems or data-intensive applications
Comfortable working with Python as a primary language
Clear communication in English and ability to work in collaborative development environments
Nice-to-have Skills
Familiarity or comfort working with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, Kafka)
Familiarity or comfort working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy)
Prior experience with orchestration tools like Prefect or Airflow
A background in physics, engineering, or another quantitative field
