Key Responsibilities

Create novel designs and comprehensive specifications for optical systems, from components to the full system level.
Evaluate design suitability by performing detailed tolerance and stray light analysis.
Develop precision alignment procedures for complex optical designs.
Assist in the hands-on assembly and precision alignment of finalized optical hardware.
Characterize the performance metrics of completed optical subsystems.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Optical Sciences or Optical Engineering.
5+ years of optical design experience.
2+ years of hands-on optics assembly experience in a laboratory environment.
Experience with Fourier Optics, flat field relay optical systems, and telecentric imaging.
Experience in designing high-numerical-aperture imaging systems.
Proficiency with Zemax, FRED, or equivalent ray-tracing software.
Proficiency with Onshape, Solidworks, or equivalent 3D CAD design software.
Nice-to-have Skills
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Optical Sciences or Optical Engineering.
Understanding of optical cavities.
