This role is for a Senior Quantum Research Scientist at the AWS Center for Quantum Computing. Key Responsibilities

Develop and test novel calibration and optimization tools for Quantum Error Correction on large scale quantum processors.

Act as a technical leader on a team focused on quantum processor control and error correction.

Develop and lead high-impact research projects that intersect with the engineering roadmap.

Work on new ideas and stay current with advancements in experimental quantum computation.

Required Skills

PhD in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent degree in a similar field

5+ years of experience as an experimentalist in quantum computing

In-the-lab experience calibrating multi-qubit systems

Expertise in common qubit benchmarking and tomographic protocols

Proficiency in a scientific programming environment

Experience delivering projects as part of a cross-team collaboration

Nice-to-have Skills

Expertise in superconducting qubits, cavity/circuit QED, and microwave control of superconducting circuits

Familiarity with implementing quantum error correction (QEC) circuits on hardware

Experience with automated quantum processor bring-up and optimization for QEC applications

Ability to simulate simple quantum systems
