This role seeks a Senior Quantum Experimentalist to join the Calibration team, focusing on optimizing and automating the calibration processes for the cat-qubit Quantum Processing Unit (QPU). The experimentalist will be responsible for characterizing gate performance and ensuring the QPU calibrations are maintained and up to date. This work is critical for extracting maximum performance from the quantum computer and directly contributes to the company's technological roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Define and optimize the automatic calibration graphs for the quantum processor.
Integrate new methods for measuring gates and calibrating cat qubit quantum processors.
Improve experimental setups and tools used for quantum operations.
Report experimental results effectively to both internal teams and external audiences.
Manage and coordinate collaborations with external partners.
Required Skills
PhD and postdoc with 4+ years of experimental work experience in superconducting quantum circuits.
Microwave control and measurement of superconducting quantum circuits.
Data analysis and comparison to theory or numerical simulations.
Quantum gate design and benchmarking.
Knowledge of quantum error correction protocols.
Proficiency in scientific writing.
Nice-to-have Skills
Experience using Python for data analysis and comparison to simulations.
