This role seeks a Quantum Compilation Scientist to join the new compilation team. The primary mission is to design and optimize the critical software toolchain that translates high-level quantum programs into instructions for the physical quantum processors. This scientist will work across quantum physics and computer science disciplines to integrate architectural innovations into the resource estimator, ensuring the system is scalable and achieves peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Alice & Bob’s compilation tool suit, using theoretical studies and implementation, to maximize the effective use of the fault-tolerant quantum computer architecture.
Improve the resource estimator by integrating the newest architectural improvements.
Make the improved resource estimator usable by external users.
Write patents, publish scientific results in journals, and present them at conferences.
Mentor junior members of the team, interns, and PhD students.
Required Skills
Demonstrated expertise in quantum compilation.
Demonstrated expertise in quantum error correction.
Demonstrated expertise in fault-tolerant quantum algorithms.
Demonstrated expertise in classical language and compilation theory.
PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Quantum Information Science.
Proficiency in Python and at least one compiled language (e.g. C++, Rust).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have Skills
Deep expertise in graph theory or branch & bound/constraint propagation algorithms.
Solid understanding of classical compiler backends (e.g., LLVM, GCC).
Solid understanding of high-performance or specialized computing compilers.
Comprehensive knowledge of computer architecture and operating systems.
